A Beautiful Wedding At Mossiman's
Back in May this year, I was invited along by Bilal and Aale to photograph their engagement party. There was amazing food and drink on offer that day, so it was no surprise when they told me they would be getting married at Mossiman's, a private dining club established and run by the world famous chef, Anton Mossiman. It was a daytime affair too - very civilised indeed!
I arrived at Aale's family home where she was getting ready in a beautiful room with lots of space and some gorgeous natural light flooding in from the window. Such conditions are a luxury for me, so I was very happy snapping away while Aale had her hair and makeup done.
We all hopped in taxis over to Mossiman's, situated in an old church in the heart of Knightsbridge, London, where Bilal and their wedding guests awaited on the top floor under a beautiful arched ceiling. A beautiful room fit for a lovely civil ceremony, followed by a very quick religious ceremony, carried out by Bilal's father.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a truly gourmet four course meal in the main club dining room. There were some great speeches, as well as a classic moment when Bilal smashed his champagne glass whilst trying to get everyone's attention. I love moments like that, they remind me why I love documentary wedding photography.
Following the meal, there was just time for very quick portrait session with the newlyweds across the road in a lovely little cobbled mews, before they set off for some early evening drinks.
All in all it was a cracking day, and I even had the chance to do something that Saturday evening, what a bonus!
Wishing Bilal and Aale a lifetime of happiness together. It was a pleasure and privilege to photograph their wedding, and here are a few of my favourite shots and a slideshow with a slightly wider selection.
