Rachel + Matt tie the knot in Kent
If you've been following me on Facebook recently, you'll have noticed that I'm knee deep in wedding season. Six weddings in August - some working, some as a guest. But it would be silly to think that I wouldn't take my camera when I'm a guest!
The first wedding was that of Becca and Ron in Israel. You can see photos of that on a previous post.
The second wedding, and the main focus of this post, is that of my good friend from university, Matt, and his beautiful new wife, Rachel. They had already booked a photographer for the main part of the day but didn't have one for the party, nor one to capture Matt, his brothers and other groomsmen getting ready in the morning. So Matt kindly asked me and I wasn't about to turn him down.
The wedding ceremony itself took place in a lovely church in Rainham, Kent, and the reception all in a hotel in Maidstone. I went straight to the hotel in the morning to find Matt and his groomsmen in surprisingly relaxed mood given it was his last hours of un-married life.
The ceremony was lovely, followed by a great reception at the hotel. Both Matt, his two best men and Rachel's father all delivered meaningful and funny speeches.
After dinner it was on to the music and dancing, and there was plenty of that! Matt and Rachel were leading the way on the dance floor, making shapes to the brilliant band playing one funky tune ater another.
Everyone else soon followed. Particularly special was almost everyone getting involved in dancing to Michael Jackson's classic, Thriller. For some reason Matt and Rachel both ended up crowd surfing too!
All this dancing malarky was tiring work, so I think Matt decided it was time to serenade his new wife and take her upstairs ;-)
ALL IN ALL IT WAS AN AMAZING WEDDING. BIG THANKS GO TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE IT HAPPEN. CONGRATULATIONS MATT AND RACHEL!
